Lilla Ohrstrom lives in The Plains, VA, where she is the owner of Youngblood Art Studio. She has been working in clay since childhood. Currently she teaches classes and exhibits other artists’ work at YAS. She is creating a series of sculptures of extreme skiers to be cast in bronze and continues to make emotive figurative ceramic sculpture as seen at the Sumner School Museum in her 2004 exhibit. Since 2009 she has studied jewelry making at the Corcoran. Her jewelry was selected for exhibition at the Corcoran in the summer 2012.

Ohrstrom has a degree in sculpture from Skidmore College University Without Walls, 1988. She has studied at RISD and at Parsons School of Design in Paris. While in Paris she studied classical figurative sculpture in private workshops with American artist Cyril Heck. In Rhode Island she apprenticed with Felix deWeldon, sculptor of the Iwo Jima memorial. In addition, Lilla completed a year of perfectionnement at the l’Ecole des Arts Décoratif in Strasbourg, France. Her work is in private collections.
